There are a number of people committed to expanding the work of Living Hope. Together, they share the same vision – to see the homeless children of Vladivostok given a secure future. Without their help, this vision could not continue. Here are their stories.

Anya
Anya Zaguzova,  Director and Member of the Board of Directors

Since 2002, Anya has steadily given more and more her time to the work of Living Hope. She started by helping in the mobile kitchen, and visiting children on the streets. Anya also mediated between parents and children, ran and organised camps and worked with local government to help children at risk. In 2005 she took over the Directorship. Anya loves teaching guitar to the kids and says she gets her energy from spending time with them.

Maxim
Trofimov Maxim Valeryevich, Assistant Director

Maxim joined Living Hope in 1999 to give advice and support on various cases.
Now as Assistant Director, he has an even larger responsibility. Previously he was a member of the Army, a missionary and pastoral assistant. He also attained a red diploma in pedagogy and psychology from the Far East National University. Maxim is married with three children.

Luba
Luba Punichova, Psychologist

With a background in psychology, Luba is well equipped to understand the needs of the children. Born in Russia, she has years of teaching experience in schools and kindergartens. Luba joined Living Hope in 1999 and enjoys helping the children with needlework and craft making. For Luba, this work is her calling and she believes without love, she would be unable to fulfill this role. Luba is also a wife, and mother of two adult children.

Tanya
Tanya Oreshnikova, Social Worker

As the social teacher at Living Hope, Tanya puts her heart and soul into various creative activities for the children. She really enjoys seeing the children grow in confidence and loves spending time with them. Prior to her current role, she worked as a tutor’s assistant and has 15 years work experience. She also has two children of her own and is studying English at the Economic Institute.

Nicole
Nicole Evanuta, Social Worker

Born in Ukraine, Nicole has a life that has closely mirrored many of the children she cares for. A former drug addict who has also lived on the streets, Nicole feels she can genuinely reach out and relate to these children, and help them turn their lives around. Prior to beginning work at Living Hope, Nicole worked at a rehabilitation centre for drug addicts.
