To celebrate our mums on Mother’s Day, we made beautiful cards with the children.

Dima has successfully completed the work required to gain his Hygiene Certificate which enables him to work in the food industry. He has got a job at the Ice Cream Factory which is located near Living Hope. Dima loves his job and we are all very happy for him.

We are very happy for Alexei who is living with us at Living Hope. As a child he would always run away from the orphanage. After spending some time in prison Alexei has come to Living Hope and today is his first day of school. We are very proud of him and look forward to watching him grow and learn new skills.

Living Hope has come alive with magical paintings of a small forest in autumn created by the smallest hands and most enthusiastic hearts. Each fortnight we invite young mothers to come in to Living Hope and discuss a variety of topics relating to education.

This month we celebrate a special event with Rina as she receives her first wage. Rina came to us homeless with a one year old daughter four months ago. She now has a job in a kindergarten which allows her to spend time with her daughter while she is at work. Rina is really excited about earning an income and learning how to use money wisely. |

Josh, our volunteer from NZ has been working with the boys to finish off the storeroom. Sergey has been showing off his newly acquired carpentry skills and is proud of the shelves they have made for their shoes!

On Saturday we took the kids up the tallest mountain in Primorsly Krai. To climb Mt Pedan was difficult but interesting. It rained the entire time and they woke in the morning in their tents all soaking wet, but still all had a great time and have happy memories of the time together. |

Today was the beginning of camp, so it was all excitement and activity this morning around the centre as kids were arriving and staff were rushing around trying to feed them all and pull together the final bits of gear needed. Volunteers from several countries arrived and also six deaf orphans who we had been asked to take on camp with us.
Excitement was high and the noise levels out of this world. Eventually we got them all on the bus, explained a few ground rules and sent them on their way with an expectation of fun, sun and games. |

After a long period of living with us, Sasha has realised that it is time to try and make it on her own. She will continue to work as our cleaner, but will rent a small apartment locally |

Sadly today Ariana, 5 years, had to go to hospital as she is really sick with a bad flu bug that is going round. This is usual here in Russia if kids are not well to go into the hospital rather than be treated at home. |
